Welcome to the class blog! This is where I will post general announcements, reminders and prompts throughout the semester. Occasionally, I will also share a blog entry, news article, or image that I think relates to our ongoing discussions in class. These posts are, of course, not required reading, so take a look at only the ones that pique your interest.
As I mentioned in class, I hope that you will also make use of this blog (beyond the required posts and comments) to share some texts and objects you encounter in your daily lives that you find relevant to the course theme and questions. Feel free to post announcements about upcoming events as well.
A few tips on how to navigate this site:
- The protected pages on the blog can be accessed by typing in the password on your syllabus (under the “blogging” section).
- You can access .PDFs of the short texts for this course by clicking on the “Course Readings” page on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- You can find handouts I distributed in class by visiting the “Handouts” page.
- Facilitators can use the collaborative workspace I created with Google Docs, which is located on the “Collaboration” page.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or post a comment on this blog post.
Enjoy the long Labor Day weekend and happy reading!
P.S. All of you should receive an invitation to join the blog as an author shortly. Please contact me if you do not get an email from wordpress.com by Thursday.
